Pursuing the fine art of photography is a development that came about later in my life. As an analytical thinker, it has been a surprising and welcome diversion.
I endeavour to "capture light" in such a way as to showcase the world as we all wish it to be;
a little brighter,
a little calmer
and just a little more peaceful...
I have been married to my best friend for 31 years. He is my foundation, my rock, and my biggest fan. It is because of him I am able to follow my dreams. Together we have raised two children, and now are witnessing the exponential love that grandchildren bring into your life. Through the years we have had the opportunity to create so many memories. Time and time again, as a family we return to our photo albums and old videos to reminisce. The moments that have been engrained in our memories the deepest are those that revolve around our family photos. The casual, day to day photos of everyday life are the ones that rekindle the emotions, feelings, and laughter, not the posed shots with the cheesy smiles and matching shirts.
The gypsy side of my soul loves to travel, which also inspires the photographer in me. I love to shoot fine art and landscapes, capturing the beauty that is the world around us. From vast panoramas of mountain ranges to macro shots of a flower or a bee, I love capturing all of it. There is so much beauty around us, it is fun to bottle wee bits of it up in my camera and take it home to savour a little bit later.
